I really think Ireland’s 2013 Eurovision entry should be Samantha Mumba…

Mumba needs a career boost, Ireland needs a strong entry. It’s a win win.

Oh the homoeroticism of it all.

This is now an annual complaint. Every year since Dustin, My favorite eurovision entry  has failed to progress past the semi finals.

Honorable mentions to the Ukraine and the UK who really both deserved to do much better.

On a side note, I am so fed up with the medias annual Eurovision hangover where they curse how poorly the UK did (even if they did alright). Then people who don’t even watch the show call for the UK to with draw or for the competition to be cancelled because it’s all so rigged and political. Ireland is starting to adopt the same attitude and it’s a shame. As a pundit correctly pointed out in BBC breakfast this week in a competition with 46 entries every year, You’re doing well if you win twice a century. So Uk appreciate your 5 wins, and Ireland appreciate your 7. The whole purpose of Eurovision in the beginning was bring Europe together to enjoy the magic of television. Let’s keep it that way. And yes certain countries always give there douze point to the same sister nation, but when it comes to winning it has little effect on the overall result.

A tip for reading James Joyce…

I’ve always had trouble getting into James Joyce’s writing, But I noticed that If I just imagine the late Ronnie Drew of The Dubliners is reading it aloud to me I seem to consume it energetically and enthusiastically.

This new found information is making me much more excited to take on the mammoth copy of Ulysses that’s weighing down my book shelf.
